Every barrel in the Het Anker maturation warehouses is carefully monitored and regularly tasted. From time to time, we come across exceptional taste expressions. The Finest Selection series comprises special editions of such taste expressions.
For this edition, we selected a few exclusive barrels from Huelva (Spain) where the famous Oloroso wine is produced. Initial ageing for 30 months in First Fill Bourbon barrels was followed by a long, 90-month finish in First Fill Oloroso barrels. This combined ageing of 10 years results in a sensual, complex whisky with pronounced hints of dark chocolate, wood and walnut. Notes of apricot, raisins and dates linger in the mild finish.
