On 23 November we are celebrating the anniversary of the Molenberg Distillery with an Anniversary Edition whisky. This box compiles three of these editions:
- Sola Jerez (2016) is a special blend of our first own distillates from 2010 and the different sample distillates that were produced in 2007 before the start-up of our own distillery, both only (Sola) with a wood-finish in Oloroso sherry (Jerez) butts. This sun-drenched whisky combines the best tastes of Spain: slightly sweet fruity hints of apricot, orange, figs and raisins evolving towards a spicy taste sensation with warm woody touches that linger.
- Victor (2018) has matured for five years exclusively in First Fill Bourbon casks. For this ‘wood’ anniversary, we selected the finest casks from our maturation chambers. These casks are made entirely of American oak, a type of wood that releases pleasant hints of vanilla, honey and coconut during the maturation process.
- Esmeralda (2019) came about after an initial maturing of 30 months in Bourbon casks and followed by a lengthy 48-month finish in Madeira wine casks. The hints of raisins and nuts give this fruity, aromatic whisky an alluring elegance. The slightly sweetish taste is enhanced by mild acidity flowing on to a long, rich finish.
